2018 Midterm Elections

Growing up I always felt like the only real elections that mattered were the ones for the President. I don’t think I could have been more wrong.

Not having a clear understanding of Politics and what Democracy in America meant, I have definitely skipped out on many midterm elections. Which is ignorance at its finest.  

Yesterday we went as a family to the polls. My oldest daughter asked if we were voting for the President again. She’s got her own feelings about the current one and she’s only six! Lol. I told her no and began to attempt to explain to her about local representatives and the different positions in Congress. I low key wish I paid more attention to this stuff but I figure my basic knowledge was enough for her.  

She understands that voting doesn’t always gaurantee that your choice will become elected. But she sees the significance of getting out and doing your part as a Citizen. So my job there is done.
